Secretary Thanh stressed the need for the Department to provide vocational training courses for rural people, and pointed out difficulties with this issue.  He also directed local vocational colleges to focus on training programmes, based on their strengths and to meet society's demands.

The city leader noted that the focus should be on paying more attention to local social policy beneficiaries.  He also said that the city’s authorities would spend 2 billion VND to upgrade the canteen at the Village of Hope.  He added that this would help to provide temporary accommodation for elderly people who have rendered service to the nation, whilst waiting for the construction of a new centre for them to be completed.  The city leader also said that the city would  upgrade the city’s care centre for mentally-ill people.
