In her remarks at the workshop titled “Da Nang Tourism in the New Era: Integration and Breakthrough” held in the city on Saturday, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi affirmed that the merger of Quang Nam Province and Da Nang not only expanded the geographical space, making Da Nang the largest centrally-governed city in the country, but also opened up a completely new development vision.

She, therefore, stressed the need for the local tourism industry to be well prepared and play a pioneering role in restructuring the common development space to maximise the potential of culture and natural resources and enhance regional connectivity in that context.
Vice Chairwoman Thi pledged that the municipal government will consistently support the city’s Tourism Development Promotion Fund, the Tourism Association, and the business community. This includes assisting businesses with communication and market promotion, facilitating the opening of new air routes, and addressing any difficulties or obstacles that may arise in their operations.
During the workshop, experts, managers and business representatives exchanged and discussed a number of key topics. Included were how to effectively exploit resources and develop tourist spots and destinations after administrative merger, positioning the city's tourism brand and market, strengthening service supply chain linkages, boosting tourism promotion activities, applying digital transformation and improving the quality of human resources in the tourism industry, investing in infrastructure and developing expanded tourism spaces.
The workshop offered a good opportunity for the management community, experts and businesses to look back on the development journey of Da Nang tourism, and at the same time build a strategic vision and new initiatives in a bid to enhance competitiveness, sustainable development and deep integration with the region and the world.
On the occasion, Vice Chairwoman Thi commended and highly appreciated the Da Nang Tourism Development Promotion Fund for its continuous efforts and remarkable achievements in connecting businesses, creating consensus, effectively supporting business activities and expanding international markets.
At the same time, she requested the fund and the municipal Tourism Association to continue to promote their leading role, and mobilise businesses to join hands with the city to develop Da Nang tourism in the new era, affirming the position of Da Nang tourism on the world tourism map.
