In particular, coastal and riverside urban tourism projects in recent times have formed a chain of high-end tourism and services along the Truong Giang River. These project have also combined with the development of community-based tourism, traditional craft villages, and eco-tourism.
Aside from tourism, service, and resort projects that have come into operation such as the Nam Hoi An Resort at the first phase and the Vinpearl Nam Hoi An, many strategic investors are researching and promoting investment in new urban, service, and tourism projects.
Notable among them are major projects that have had investment policy decision approved by the municipal government. Included are the 188.56ha Chu Lai Urban Area, the 296ha mixed-use urban area south of Nguyen Tat Thanh axis, and the 74.05ha urban area along Truong Giang River.
Currently, automobiles and multipurpose mechanical engineering are becoming the core development at the Chu Lai - Truong Hai Industrial Park (243ha) developed by the Truong Hai Group Corporation (Thaco).
Auto manufacturing activities have been extended to the Tam Thang Industrial Park in Ban Thach Ward.

In recent years, the number of passengers and goods transported through the Chu Lai Airport in Nui Thanh Commune has grown remarkably, contributing significantly to boosting the local socio-economic development as well as ensuring national defence and security.
Under the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 648 approving the Master Plan for the National Airport System for the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision to 2050, the Chu Lai Airport is designated as an international airport of class 4F along with Noi Bai and Long Thanh.
Accordingly, the Chu Lai Airport is expected to handle 10 million passengers per year by 2030. It will be developed into a logistics hub for air cargo, a flight training center, and an aircraft maintenance and repair center.
Meanwhile, Tam Hiep and Tam Hoa ports have been directly serving the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone and the surrounding area with container, general cargo, bulk, liquid/gas terminals, passenger berths, and facilities for other industries, accommodating vessels up to 50,000 DWT.
The Ky Ha and Tam Giang ports have been serving the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone, gradually converting their functions to support the Blue Whale gas-electricity project chain.
